Ice cold: DJ Vice will try to warm things up at the Cosmopolitan’s ice-skating rink.

Return to the Tryptophan Dance Party at Bunkhouse Though the Bunkhouse 2.0 is known for live music, we don’t doubt its facility for getting down, and who better than the Bargain DJ Collective—that’s 8-Bits, Aurajin and Rex Dart—to supply the throwback grooves? In case dinner wasn’t epic enough, the venue will be cooking up a turkey version of its signature sloppy Joes. November 27, 9 p.m., free entry.

Terminate the Turkey at Tao Who says Thanksgiving has to end with a slice of pumpkin pie? If stuffing your face on Turkey Day doesn’t send you into a slumber, consider heading to the Venetian nightspot for its ninth annual Thanksgiving bash. A cornucopia of Hangar 1 drinks are on the house from 11 p.m. to midnight, with Weekly cover model DJ Five supplying the mix-of-plenty soundtrack. November 27, doors at 10 p.m., $20 men, $10 women.

Vice on Ice at the Ice Rink Thanksgiving more or less signifies the start of the holiday season, and what better way to continue the kickoff weekend than with yuletide fun at the Cosmopolitan’s outdoor skating rink? Warm up with a seasonal sipper like the Proverbial Carrot (basically carrot cake in warm liquid form) and enjoy the “snow” showers Strip-side, all set to tunes courtesy of local veteran DJ Vice. November 28, 9 p.m. (doors at 3 p.m.), $15 skate admission ($10 locals); $5 skate rental; free admission to the Ice Rink.

Tasty Treat at Vanguard Lounge For those into a more soulful, sexy and forward-thinking bass-music sound, San Luis Obispo’s Tasty Treat will fill the intimate Vanguard Lounge with grind-enabling breaks and swoonworthy synths. DJs Martin Jane, Byra Tanks, Sucio and McKenzie all support. November 28, 10 p.m., $5 for men after midnight, free for ladies.

Battletrack at Surrender The Encore nightspot reprises its recurring beat-battle promo for Thanksgiving weekend. Shuffle on down to Surrender’s dancefloor Friday night to find out which DJ’s sound will slay the crowd: grooving house beats or hard-hitting, high-energy trap tracks. November 28, doors at 10:30 p.m., $35+ men, $25+ women.

Bicycle Prom Winter Formal at Artifice Remember when you begged your parents for the car the night of the big dance? Bicycle Prom is the night you and your date toss the car keys aside and ride your bikes—the meet-up is at UNLV’s Moyer Student Union at 9 p.m.—over to Artifice for some throwback fun, which will include the crowning of a king and queen. Your DJs are Totescity, Midnight Affair and DJ @Chcuk, and your attire is ... however you interpret “cyclist chic.” November 29, 10 p.m., free.

Cymatic Sessions with Oscar L at Downtown Cocktail Room It’s an eventful week for the original Downtown house spot. Besides Corduroy Mavericks’ EP release party (thrown by local imprint Soulsupplement) the Saturday before, weekly promo Cymatic Sessions holds its monthly headliner edition on Tuesday, featuring surging Spanish tech-house producer/DJ Oscar L, performing in Las Vegas for the first time. DJ Vixen supports. December 2, doors at 10 p.m., $20, $15 with flier.

Editor's note: Joris Voorn and the Martinez Brothers' November 30 performances at Life were initially included in this week's Hot Spots. Life announced November 25 that the event had been cancelled, but will be rescheduled for a later date. DJ Bynon will play instead.
