Popular restaurants Nobu, MB Steak and Pizza Forte will survive the transition of the Hard Rock Hotel into Virgin Las Vegas, and the new resort is officially scheduled to open on November 6, 2020. Those are just a few of the revelations from the latest episode of the All The Vegas podcast with special guest Richard “Boz” Bosworth, president and CEO of JC Hospitality and the current Hard Rock Hotel and leader of the highly anticipated renovation and rebranding project.

Now that the resort revamps at Park MGM and the Palms are complete, all eyes are on the Hard Rock, which will begin its transformation into Virgin in early February. “The last day of check-in is Super Bowl Sunday and it’s a one-night maximum stay, and we had one group ask for a late checkout on Monday the third. We said nobody is coming in behind you, so it’s no problem,” he says. “Once they leave the construction fences will start being built around the building. It’s a monumental task.”

There are similarities between the Virgin and Hard Rock brands, starting with the fact that brand founders Richard Branson and Peter Morton “are both inspiring and creative entrepreneurs and both come from the world of music.” But Boz also stressed the Virgin Las Vegas experience will be something new as every inch of the property is being renovated and will have a different look.

We also talk with Boz about why Las Vegas can’t be compared to any other hospitality market in the United States; the plans to revamp and expand the casino floor and exactly what’s in store for the club/theater space currently occupied by Magic Mike Live; how his company came to the difficult decision to shut down for eight months to complete the renovation instead of staying open and working in phases; moving the iconic Center Bar to improve the flow of the resort; partnering with AEG to create a new experience at the Joint; why he’s not interested in creating a traditional Vegas nightclub; and how the people always make the experience in Las Vegas.

EPISODE 35: THE VEGAS YOU NEED

Boz wants you to go to Carbone at Aria, sit down at the bar for a meal and some cocktails and let bartender Bernie Williams take care of you.

Mark wants you to check out Water Street in downtown Henderson and catch the Main Street USA vibes before this burgeoning area explodes.

Brock wants you to catch Magic Mike Live Las Vegas at the Hard Rock before it closes up shop in late November.
