Lady Gaga may be the Vegas resident headliner most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, professionally speaking. Gaga was forced to postpone her April and May shows at Park Theater but also decided to postpone the release of her highly anticipated sixth album Chromatica, originally set to drop April 10.

“While I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic,” Gaga explained on Instagram, noting she’ll announce a new 2020 date for the record later.

But the star of the Strip’s Enigma and Jazz & Piano concert events since December 2018 also has emerged as one of “music’s philanthropic heroes” of the crisis, according to Variety. Gaga has partnered with Gobal Citizen, a New York-based organization founded in 2008 to fight poverty around the world, to raise $35 million to provide protective gear for health workers and develop vaccines.

And she’s curating the One World: Together At Home broadcast and digital special to be live streamed on April 18. Among those scheduled to appear or perform are Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Chris Martin, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Lizzo, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Caesars Palace resident headliner Keith Urban. The show will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and available on multiple TV and web channels including ABC, NBC, CBS, Facebook, iHeartRadio, YouTube, MTV, Twitch and more.

Headlining magicians Mac King (Harrah’s) and Piff the Magic Dragon (Flamingo) are among the humorous illusionists participating in the second International Stars of Magic show streaming live on April 15 at 4 p.m. Vegas time. The show is based out of the Greg Frewin Theatre in Niagara Falls, Ontario and will benefit animal charity group the Niagara SPCA Humane Society. It can be viewed at the theater’s YouTube page.

Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, who recently opened a headlining gig at the Terry Fator Theatre at the Mirage and was forced to cancel the latest round of those shows when the Strip shut down, recently disclosed on social media that he and other members of his family tested positive for coronavirus but have since recovered and tested negative. He’s jumping on the burgeoning DJ battle trend on Instagram Live — which is less DJ battle and more about playing greatest hits and talking about music — with legendary pop, R&B and hip-hop producer Teddy Riley, an actual Las Vegas resident, on April 18 at 6 p.m. “Get ready for a night of groove and love, and ladies, put on your red dress, light the candles, pour some wine and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes,” Babyface wrote.

And save the date of Monday, April 27, for what may be the biggest Mondays Dark event yet, a six-hour streaming telethon featuring more than 30 entertainers and broadcast across multiple media channels to generate funds for local artists and entertainers currently out of work.
