Cirque du Soleil is working to stay connected to audiences around the world with its new digital content hub CirqueConnect, available at cirquedusoleil.com/cirqueconnect. Cirque will also premiere a new 60-minute special at the site at 3 p.m. on March 27 featuring moments from shows O, Kurios and Luzia.

Cirque du Soleil closed its Las Vegas resident production shows and all live entertainment operations worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We at Cirque du Soleil have a role to play in providing high-quality entertainment to our fans that are staying in their homes as this crisis unfolds,” said Sheila Morin, CMO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group. “Now more than ever, our fans need the distraction that spectacle brings, a break from the chaos. We want to do our part to spread joy, even from afar, directly to them.”

CirqueConnect includes a new virtual reality app that can be downloaded and used with Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift and Oculus Go to create immersive experiences taking the viewer onstage at several Cirque shows. There’s also a fitness series, Cirque It Out, broadcasting various short workouts with different Cirque artists via YouTube, and another video series of step-by-step makeup tutorials with acrobat, contortionist and makeup artist Kyle Cragle.

Original live-action kids series Big Top Academy tells the story of a group of young acrobats who dream of becoming professional circus artists and learn to work as a team. The series is broadcasted on Discovery Kids network in Latin America, on TVOKids in Canada, on Sony Pictures Television POP channel in United Kingdom and can be streamed on Hulu in the United States, with links at CirqueConnect.
