The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, which hasn’t hosted any events for more than a year, is preparing to welcome guests back to the essential Downtown cultural facility with this week’s announcement of its 2021-2022 Broadway Las Vegas season.

The series will launch with Cats on October 12-17, but that’s not the earliest show on the current schedule at the Smith Center. A September 19 concert from Hawaiian musical act Kulaiwi is booked at Myron’s Cabaret Jazz, the smaller performance venue, while Reynolds Hall’s first comeback event is currently set for October 1 with the Symphonic Rock Show, a 21-piece orchestra playing classic rock hits from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and more.

The Broadway series, sponsored by Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and University Medical Center, features six stage productions with a collective 20 Tony Awards, two of which are holdovers from the Smith Center’s planned 2020-2021 offerings—My Fair Lady (January 25-30, 2022) and Tootsie (May 24-29, 2022). Rounding out the slate are An Officer and a Gentleman (October 26-31, 2021), A Christmas Carol (November 23-28, 2021) and The Band’s Visit (February 15-20, 2022).

Previous 2020-2021 Broadway series ticket holders can renew by visiting thesmithcenter.com/broadway and those that renew now will move to the front of the line to secure seats for Hamilton, which will return to Las Vegas for the 2022-2023 season. New ticket purchases can also find a season subscription at the website. The Smith Center box office is currently not open for in-person purchases.
