Now in its eighth year, the Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival continues to expand and build on its success, this year branching out to encompass 13 films and three different venues. Beginning January 17, the festival will take place primarily at the theater inside the new Performing Arts Center at the Adelson School in Summerlin. Two screenings are set for the Cinemark Theaters at the South Point, and the festival’s final movie will be shown at the Historic Fifth Street School Downtown.

Highlights of this year’s program include Orthodox Stance (pictured), a documentary about an orthodox Jewish boxer, which will be followed by a discussion with its subject; a new showing of Louis Malle’s classic Holocaust drama Au Revoir Les Enfants; Blessed Is the Match, a Joan Allen-narrated documentary that has been short-listed for a Best Documentary Oscar; and Nina’s Journey, another Holocaust drama that won top honors from Sweden’s highest film awards.
