Hogg Corps

Street Concepts

Image

Bay Area expatriates Hogg Corps don’t swing for the fences as much as they could on Street Concepts, and the result is an uneven CD that’s about as satisfying as a handful of fries on an empty stomach. The boys have swag, but too often it’s buried beneath beats and concepts that just don’t go for the jugular. They bring the fire on “I’ma Monsta” and “My Way,” and step up their game on The Game-assisted “H.C. & The Game” and “Still Ridin’” featuring Young Noble from the Outlaws. Once they release their inner boss hogs, the sky’s the limit.
