Backstory: Veterans of various local bands (Better Broken, The Core, First Cousins, I Am the Thief, Mons Wolff, Narrowed) came together in July 2019 to form a new group, which has been recording and preparing for an as-yet-unscheduled debut performance.

Sound: Post-hardcore, influenced by Hot Water Music, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Shai Hulud, Thin Lizzy, 1986 Kurt Russell cult classic Big Trouble in Little China and more.

Vacation metal: The origin of that unique-to-Lords of Death Bandcamp tag? “When COVID hit, I showed up with a Hawaiian shirt on at practice, just being goofy, and then they all started showing up every Friday wearing them,” drummer Jordan Pflueger says. “We didn’t know if we still had jobs, so I was like, ‘I’m pretty much on vacation now.’ So that’s how we made it up.”
