Brace yourself: Wu-Tang Clan is about to bring da ruckus to the Strip. In a history-making move, the revolutionary rap group has announced Las Vegas’ first hip-hop residency, set to kick off at the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on February 9, during Super Bowl weekend.
“This is a groundbreaking moment not only for this venue but for Las Vegas as a whole,” Bobby Reynolds, senior vice president of AEG Presents, said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming hip-hop fans from far and wide to experience this group of legendary talents onstage for these exciting shows over two of the biggest weekends in Las Vegas."
The four-date show will celebrate Wu-Tang’s enduring 30-year legacy, bolstered by exclusive merch and custom venue tables adorned in the group’s classic black and yellow colors. This comes shortly after hip-hop’s own 50-year milestone, in which the seminal rap group played a significant role.
Emerging out of New York City, Wu-Tang developed a loyal following ahead of its 1993 debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The album became an instant classic, with prolific cuts like "C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)" and "Protect Ya Neck,” cementing the group’s place in hip-hop history.
Wu-Tang Clan: The Saga Continues...The Las Vegas Residency will launch on February 9 and 10, with additional performances scheduled for March 22 and 23 during March Madness. Tickets go on sale to the public on December 15 at axs.com.
