Why do you have to be a nonconformist like everybody else? —James Thurber

The plumage of young aficionados of punk, post-hardcore and metal was on display as the Warped Tour made its annual Vegas stop last week. As my own teens are avid colorers of their own hair, it’s not something that immediately stood out to me. So maybe it was the preponderance of dye jobs, ranging from the intricate to the subtle, that caught my attention. I may joke about conforming nonconformity, but at least it’s colorful.
