The One Drop Foundation, the international non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities on the forefront of the water and climate crisis, will host the eighth edition of Walk for Water at Springs Preserve on Saturday, Nov. 9. The family friendly event will feature an interactive warm-up with Jay R Beatbox and members of the cast of FANTASY, with appearances by Cirque du Soleil artists and Blue Man Group. All net proceeds from the event will directly benefit One Drop’s mission of ensuring access to clean water for those in need and water conservation and education efforts in Nevada. In addition to the 2.1 mile walk, participants will also have the opportunity to join the water bucket challenge - carrying a bucket of water from start to finish to simulate the daily effort that falls primarily on women and children in at-risk countries, who must walk to retrieve water multiple times a day. Following the race, guests will be congratulated on completing the walk and enjoy live entertainment, face painting, games and refreshments at the Springs Preserve amphitheater.
