Ronald Corso, Vegas music scene mainstay and owner and operator of Downtown’s 11th Street Records and National Southwestern Recording, suffered a stroke on July 21 and has been in the hospital since, family members tell the Weekly.

“He’s making a little bit of progress every day,” Corso’s wife, Kristi, says of her 51-year-old husband, who also served as the bassist for local indie band A Crowd of Small Adventures for a time and has recorded albums by that group and many others over the years. “He’s out of the ICU [intensive care unit], and he’s breathing on his own now, but doctors say they won’t know how it’s gonna go for a month or two.”

In the meantime, the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign at gofundme.com/support-for-ronald-corsos-medical-expenses to raise money to help with medical costs. Friends can also show support by shopping at 11th Street Records (1023 E. Fremont St.), which is being staffed by family members.

The store is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“He’s a fighter, he’s got a lot of spirit and that can only help him going forward,” Kristi says. “He’s gonna fight through it.”
