The Other Room

It isn’t like any other bar on the Las Vegas Strip, and that’s exactly why you’ll fall in love with it.

Located near Joe’s Stone Crab in the farthest reaches of the Forum Shops at Caesars sits the Otheroom, an unassuming and dimly lit bar that can’t help but pique your curiosity. The brand known for its following among craft beer and wine enthusiasts at its New York City and LA locations, mixes things up at its new Vegas spot, venturing into craft cocktails and fun finger-foods like maple bacon tater tots and a shortrib grilled cheese.

With brick and metal finishes and evocative, moody light fixtures, the vibe is urban yet sophisticated, funky yet refined. It could easily be a sister bar to Downtown’s Velveteen Rabbit, or a contemporary cousin to the off-Strip Herbs & Rye. Whether you’re just visiting Vegas or are a true local, the cheeky cocktail menu—designed by mixologist Andrew Pollard—is well worth the trip.

Fans of the Asian citrus yuzu will love the sweet-and-sour Cosmo Is Dead, featuring Brooklyn Gin, lemon, house blueberry grenadine and sparkling wine. And the Brazilian Wax (Avuá Prata CachaÇa, Tanteo jalapeño tequila, lime, pineapple, basil and passionfruit) is as smooth as its name suggests.

Designed with attitude in mind, Otheroom bucks the predictability of the Strip, taking guests out of their comfort zone to discover something new and intriguing. The In Through the Out Door, for example, is a take on a Paloma, but swaps tequila for Sotol Por Siempre. Otheroom’s version of a mule—Smokey & The Bandit—uses bourbon, smoked peach liquor, lemon, angostura and ginger beer for a smoky new spin.

You’ll spot some good suds on tap, like the Dogfish Flesh & Blood IPA or the local Big Dog’s Las Vegas Lager, but there are even more appealing options down menu: premium flights of Macallan 12, 15 and 18-year varietals, and Japanese whiskies like Kakuri Nikka Coffey Grain, Hibiki Harmony and Hibiki 17 Year. With a grand-opening celebration taking place all weekend long, you’ll have every excuse to drink and eat your way through the menu. The Otheroom at the Forum Shops at Caesars, 702-836-2096; daily 11 a.m. to midnight.
