Eva Longoria and her legal team filed for bankruptcy protection last week for her two CityCenter venues, Beso restaurant and Eve nightclub at Crystals. “This is a great opportunity to begin anew, and I look forward to an exciting and enterprising 2011,” she told Robin Leach. Longoria reportedly plans to be here this week to take charge.

On Saturday night, the lines for Marquee at the Cosmopolitan—on the first-level casino floor and the second level near Holstein’s—were insanely long. Worse, non-clubgoers on Level 2 were blocked from entering the retail row by the mass of Marquee hopefuls. Better and safer planning is in order. Fortunately, the people-watching from Holstein’s was fantastic. And the duck confit- and foie gras-stuffed burger? Heavenly.

2011 is already shaping into a banner year for Dutch DJ, producer and musician Tiësto. He began a yearlong residency at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on New Year’s Day, and to top it off, Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman declared January 1, 2011, “Tiësto Day,” for which the divine Dutchman tweeted his appreciation.

The venerable Big Apple institution P.J. Clarke’s, established in 1884(!), opened its first West Coast location at Caesars Palace’s Forum Shops over the weekend. It’s labeling itself “Las Vegas’ first authentic saloon,” and claims to be all about “good food, good drink and great conversation.” Cheers to that! —Don Chareunsy

Launching this past week was Marquee Mondays, the Cosmo club’s industry night. Resident DJs include Lisa Pittman, spinning in the Library, and Jordan Stevens in the Boom Box room. Once a month LMFAO-er DJ Redfoo will be turnin’ the tables for Party Rock Mondays (beginning January 31). Forget Miami; you’re in Las Vegas, bitch! —Mark Adams
