On the heels of the Cosmopolitan’s Thursday concert series reveal, a number of local venues announced new concerts that promise to warm crowds up for spring.

The Beauty Bar confirmed a slate of back-to-back shows featuring indie rock up-and-comers in March:

Neo-post-punk favorites The Soft Moon will play Wednesday, March 6 with locals Close to Modern, Sex In Latex and DJ Allen Miller. The show begins at 9 p.m.; tickets cost $5 at the door.

Philly rockers Free Energy will play the following day, March 7, touring behind their recently released second album “Love Sign.” Experimental pop act Religious Girls will open. Tickets are $5 at the door.

L.A. garage rock trio Détective—featuring ex-Guided By Voices bassist/author/screenwriter James Greer—will play on Friday, March 8, with the opening act to be announced. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Locals Dusty Sunshine will open for Mexo-Americana duo David Wax Museum on Saturday, March 9; ticket cost $10 at the door and $8 through the online presale.

New Zealand noise punks Die! Die! Die! top a full bill on Sunday, March 10 featuring special guests Fredward, China, Solo the King and The Pluralses. Tickets cost $15 on the day of the show and $10 online.

Trent Reznor’s new project How to Destroy Angels also announced an upcoming Las Vegas date at the Pearl at the Palms on April 13, following the band’s live debut at Coachella on April 12. The group will release their debut Welcome Oblivion on March 5. A limited number of presale tickets will go on sale on February 27 through the band’s website, with general ticket sale info to be announced.

Boston boys the Dropkick Murphys will also take a Coachella detour for Las Vegas, stopping by the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on April 19. Tickets cost $30 and can currently be purchased through the House of Blues website.

Rock legend Boz Scaggs will play the Pearl, bringing his tour behind new album Memphis to the venue on Saturday, June 22 with opener Dave Mason. Tickets start at $49 and go on sale this Friday, March 1 at noon via Ticketmaster and the Pearl Box Office.

The national tour of Green Day’s Broadway hit “American Idiot” will come to Reynolds Hall at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts June 11-16. Tickets to see the Tony Award-winning musical will go on sale March 8 at 10 a.m. online at thesmithcenter.com; prices are to be announced.

Also coming to the Smith Center is Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson, performing the band’s single-song fifth album “Thick as a Brick” on Friday, July 5. The concert tour, which kicked off in April 2012, marks the first time Anderson has performed his composition in its entirety since 1972, as well as his new album “Thick as a Brick 2.” The show will feature a theatrical production include video and a full backing band. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. through the Smith Center.
