Osteria del Circo, one of the original venues opened at Bellagio in 1998 that helped redefine the Las Vegas Strip dining scene, is set to close today. In March, it will be replaced by Lago by Julian Serrano, another legend who already heads restaurants at Bellagio and Aria.

Lago will be the first Italian restaurant from the award winning Serrano, whose namesake Spanish tapas eatery at Aria and French-inspired fine dining room Picasso at Bellagio are among the most popular dining destinations on the Strip.

“Lago will deliver a fresh experience for the Bellagio guest and Las Vegas local, not only in the cuisine but also in the ambiance,” Serrano said in a release issued today. “As people step into Lago, they will be embraced in a setting that is energetic, engaging, approachable and fun—all inspired by the sights, sounds and flavors of Italy.”

Designed by Munge Leung, the new restaurant will feature floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows with views of Bellagio’s fountains and an open-air patio offering waterfront seating. Lago’s menu will be focused on small plates, including antipasti offerings of cheese and charcuterie, carpaccio and bruschetta, fresh pastas and pizzas.
