Radio City Pizzeria, a Downtown restaurant that had recently renovated its space and food and opened a new backyard bar called Retroscena, has been sold. Owner Elias Ghanem Jr. said the new owners, Jeffrey Fine and Sam Marvin, “made me an offer I couldn’t refuse,” and will be taking over the space at 508 Fremont Street on September 1.

Ghanem said the new owners will create a fondue concept. Fine’s companies run local food and beverage operations including Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Jamba Juice, I Love Burgers, Lobster ME and Daily Kitchen & Wellness Bar, among others. Marvin is chef and owner at Echo & Rig Butcher and Steakhouse at Tivoli Village and has other Las Vegas projects in the works.

Ghanem originally opened Radio City at Tivoli Village in 2011, a location that closed a year later. At the smaller Downtown restaurant in the bustling Fremont East Entertainment District, new management was brought in earlier this year to revamp the menu and make changes to the space. “There are a lot more influential and affluent people going down there and it has become a [food] destination,” Ghanem said. “Downtown has developed into this area where you have to be creative and eclectic with food, which is why we did those changes, and we were proud of the changes we made.”

But Ghanem said the changes weren’t a factor in his decision to sell the restaurant and bar. He’s working on a new Radio City location on the Strip across from Mandalay Bay. “Downtown was great for me and my family, but it was never our goal to focus on one location,” he said. “It was just a matter of freeing up time. We are moving on to other ventures we’re excited about, and it’s a new venture for Jeff and Sam. The timing was just right.”
