On February 1, Mercadito at Red Rock Resort will begin offering all-day, all-you-can-eat tacos for $19.50 every Sunday and Monday. If the thought of endless blackened swordfish, chipotle mojo shrimp, or epazote and oregano-marinated skirt steak tacos isn't enough to get you drooling, consider the Mercadito Taco Challenge. The cost to participate is $40 per person. The task: consume 32 (or more) tacos in one hour. The prize: your 32-taco meal is free and you get a $200 gift card for a future visit. (That's 10 more all-you-can-eat taco days). Suddenly, February can't come fast enough.

If you were wondering why Alex Stratta's new tapas restaurant at Tivoli Village didn't open as planned last month, you're not alone. Turns out Stratta and his team held off because they found a different location at the Summerlin-area retail center. "We will be moving Tapas to the former Poppy Den location in Tivoli Village," Stratta said in a statement. "There has been so much interest and demand for the new restaurant, which we are beyond thankful for … it is an environment more harmonious with my vision and it has a more substantial kitchen. It also is a much larger space which includes a beautiful patio, bar and private dining room, making more sense for my long-term plan." The restaurant was previously slated for the former pizzeria space adjacent to Tivoli's children's play area. No word yet on when Tapas will open.

Lagasse's Stadium at Palazzo is teaming up with Samuel Adams for a five-course beer pairing dinner on January 23. The menu will include creamy artichoke and spinach dip with lump crab meat served with Escape Route, citrus-marinated salmon served with Cold Snap, and char-grilled sirloin with bacon and roasted baby red potatoes plus Boston Lager. The price is $55 and reservations can be made by calling 702-607-2665.
