Nightlife News & Notes: Gaga concert afterparties, Deadmau5 gigs and more

Last week, several blogs took a sound bite from Pasquale Rotella’s pre-Electric Daisy Carnival interview with the Weekly’s Sarah Feldberg and created a social-media stir among dance-music enthusiasts. In the June 19 issue, Rotella said he’d consider throwing EDC on two consecutive weekends in 2015. Cue blogosphere frothing. Rotella’s Insomniac Events subsequently took to the Internet and asked fans to weigh in on whether EDC’s flagship event in Vegas should expand. Results haven’t been shared yet, but social media comments tilt in favor of keeping the festival at one three-day weekend.

To update last week’s report, Spiegelworld production Vegas Nocturne held its final performance at the Cosmopolitan’s Rose. Rabbit. Lie. on July 12. Though an RRL rep maintained in a statement that it will “evolve” despite losing its immersive entertainment anchor, there’s no word on the future of the venue’s nightclub element at press time. Its bars and restaurant remain open with entertainment Wednesday-Saturday, doors at 5:30 p.m.

Deadmau5 no longer has an official residency in Las Vegas, but the progressive producer/DJ has the closest thing to it at XS, where he’ll perform during the next three Fridays, starting July 17.

If attending Lady Gaga’s MGM Grand Garden concert on July 19 won’t be enough for her “monsters,” they will have a few post-show options from which to choose, including the expected events at gay clubs like Liaison and Piranha, and Chateau Nightclub, which is touting an “official” afterparty with Gaga collaborator and opening DJ Lady Starlight.
