Pure will close on May 26 for a full remodel—which may include the addition of a dayclub element in front of Caesars Palace and a takeover of the casino's poker room—and is slated to reopen early next year. A final Pure Tuesdays industry party for May 20—advertised as a "black-tie affair"—has also been announced. A rep for operator Angel Management Group, which was acquired by Hakkasan Group earlier this year, couldn’t elaborate.

Local DJ Tino “Bad Beat” Gomez has been busy moving and launching parties. His Techno Taco Tuesdays started on May 13 at Tacos & Beer, located at the original Firefly spot on Paradise Road. He recently moved his weekly Mixtape Mondays promo from Gold Lounge to Fizz Las Vegas, and on May 10, he debuted the biweekly deep/tech house event Refuge at La Jolla Tavern (once the Tillerman restaurant) with Soul Kitchen founder Edgar Reyes. Look for the two DJs to alternate Refuge with another bash, Patio, which begins May 24 at Bar + Bistro.

Eduardo Cordova, creative partner of future LGBT club Liaison, has moved his gay pre-clubbing Confidential Wednesdays event from Bond at the Cosmopolitan to Bally’s Indigo Lounge and renamed it Executive Wednesdays.

Speaking of the Cosmo, Rose. Rabbit. Lie. is mixing things up in May. Locals are free after midnight with ID and a verbal password (“midnight snack”) for the month, and the unique entertainment/nightlife space is putting a new twist on its offerings with a special MDW event called #MansionParty, starting at 11 p.m. May 23-25.

More Tiësto love for Las Vegas: The Dutch big-room producer included Valley locations in his recent Google Maps contest promoting his new album, A Town Called Paradise, which was named after you know where. Visit atowncalledparadise.com for details. And on the topic of love: Football player Michael Sam and his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano, partied at Tao on May 10 just hours after the former became the NFL’s first openly gay draftee. The couple kept the celebration going the next day at Marquee Dayclub.
