The big news of the week: Haze will shutter November 1, following one final weekender that will include a surprise performer during the Aria club’s industry night on October 30 and the closing party with Light exclusive DJ Carl Cox. The news, broken by VegasChatter, preceded venue operator Light Group’s statement that a new concept is forthcoming for 2015.

It’s already fall—it almost even feels like it—and two of the season’s most notorious parties will relaunch shortly. GBDC, the weekly Ghostbar afternoon rager that serves paper-bagged forties and passes out McDonald’s cheeseburgers, returns on October 18 ... with a slew of alcoholic incentives. Among the deals enticing day-drinkers: $30 bottomless mimosas, $125 bottles of pre-mixed shots, $50 121-ounce Bud tubs and, for the season debut, free champers between 1-2 p.m.

Those not too hungover can rebound the next day with the equally colorful and bubbly XIV Sessions monthly at Hyde. The appropriately titled Resurrection party is October 19 and asks regulars to dust off their favorite previous XIV get-up—you know, the one that still smells like Veuve Clicquot.

Returning from the dead is Bassment Thursdays at Body English. The Hard Rock Hotel danceteria revives its celebration of dubstep, drum-and-bass and other low-end delightfulness October 30 with Snails and previous Bassment participant Brillz.

XS is the latest nightclub to announce its New Year’s Eve headliner, and it’s a biggie: plaid-clad DJ Zedd, who recently lorded over the venue’s record-breaking night during Labor Day Weekend. Early planners can nab limited presale tickets for $75 (women) and $150 (men), with a cheaper ($20-$30) option for outdoor-only access. Down the Encore walkway, Surrender will turn down for a DJ set by resident Lil Jon, with presale tickets currently at $52 (women) and $77 (men).
