Killers bassist Mark Stoermer collaborates on new album with members of Louis XIV, Muse

A few months after the release of fourth Killers album Battle Born, bassist Mark Stoermer has another record in the pipeline.

Word came down today that Stoermer is part of a supergroup of sorts named Vicky Cryer, which will release its debut album, The Synthetic Love of Emotional Engineering, on April 16. Other participants include Louis XIV vocalist Jason Hill, Muse drummer Dominic Howard, ex-Jamiroquai bassist Nick Fyffe and ex-Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch. New York Dolls frontman David Johanssen will also make an appearance.

According to the press release, "After his last world tour with Louis XIV in the Spring of 2009 ... Hill converted an isolated 100-year-old house in the Hollywood Hills into a recording studio named Ulysses. Brimming with instruments and vintage equipment such as tape machines, plate reverbs (and a fireplace), he quickly began writing songs. Late-night recording parties ensued, friends started dropping in more frequently and a grand experiment was born."

Stoermer released his solo debut, Another Life, in 2011.

The reunited Louis XIV is scheduled to open 11 European shows for The Killers in late February and early March.
