All The Vegas Podcast: Eric Jordan Young of The Cocktail Cabaret

Image
Eric Jordan Young

Eric Jordan Young is simply one of the most talented and versatile human beings in Las Vegas. A veteran of the Vegas and Broadway stages who has performed in Chicago, Ragtime, Seussical, Dreamgirls, Rent and many more iconic productions, Eric is all over the current Vegas entertainment landscape working behind the scenes as much as he’s thrilling audiences.

He’s resident director at Baz - A Musical Mash-Up at the Palazzo. He’s the writer and creative director at Renegades at Caesars Palace. And he’s the starring host of The Cocktail Cabaret, a throwback musical that’s making waves from inside Cleopatra’s Barge, perhaps the last great Vegas lounge.

We also talk with Eric about his first big Vegas gig in Starlight Express, why chicken wings matter, what it’s like to work with entertainment icons like Ben Vereen and Chita Rivera and getting a little stage time with Mark in Rock of Ages.

EPISODE 2: THE VEGAS YOU NEED

Eric is all about The Black Sheep, a super hip kitchen in the southwest part of town that you shouldn’t miss.

Mark goes old school at the Neon Museum and recommends you visit for the Brilliant! experience, bringing those old Vegas icons back to life four times nightly.

Brock makes an obvious pick: Absinthe at Caesars Palace. If you haven’t seen this crazy show in a while, or at all, it’s time to check it out again for the first time.
