A few days after confirming its 2017 dates and site, Psycho Las Vegas has unveiled its first wave of its acts, led by acclaimed avant-garde rock outfit Swans. The Michael Gira-led group, which began life in the early 1980s, re-formed in 2010 and has released four studio albums since, including June's The Glowing Man.
Also announced for the festival, scheduled for August 17-20 at the Hard Rock Hotel: Oakland metal favorites Neurosis, French prog-rock group Magma, Norwegian black metallers Abbath, Virginia doom-metal outfit Windhand, Toronto psych-rockers Blood Ceremony, Irish sludge-rockers Slomatics and heavy Swedish trio Domkraft. More of the lineup—including December—is expected in December.
Tickets for Psycho went on sale this morning at 4:20 a.m. Vegas time, and $99 early-bird and $199 GA passes sold out quickly. $249 GA tickets (plus fees) are now available here. VIP passes ($499) will go on sale December 13.
This year's 100-plus acts included Alice Cooper, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Blue Oyster Cult, Drive Like Jehu, Converge, High on Fire, Baroness and Pentagram.
