On September 24, the Wirtz Beverage Alchemy Room in North Las Vegas hosted a half-dozen local chefs offering a sneak peek at some of Life is Beautiful’s upcoming culinary offerings. After this top-secret undertaking, we’re happy to offer some guidance on what you’ll be eating at LIB later this month.
RM Seafood’s Rick Moonen will be rolling out his Moon ‘N Doggie shrimp hot dog, always a good choice when wandering an outdoor music festival. But be forewarned: you’ll need to have a beer handy to offset the chipotle aioli’s lingering heat.
Brooklyn Bowl will be offering a trio of favorites from its normal menu: pickled pepper egg shooters delivering calculated saltiness with each bite, pronounced smoked trout salad and the famous smoked wings. If you haven’t had the opportunity to try these menu highlights at the Bowl’s Linq location, LIB is your chance to check out these instant classics.
Monte Carlo’s Yusho will be offering a gargantuan, Flintstone-esque barbecue turkey leg alongside a duo of its steamed buns. While the turkey leg could serve a small family, you’ll impress your friends with its unwieldiness. It ought to make for some great LIB Instagram posts.
A pair of Station Casinos’ fine dining venues will be serving more casual fare fitting of the festival. Red Rock’s T-bones Chophouse will serve a crisp ahi tuna taco with a sharp avocado wasabi cream, while GVR’s Hank’s will offer a prime beef sandwich. The latter is served atop a roasted garlic hoagie with pepper jack sauce and creamy horseradish, a thoroughly addictive bite.
As sponsor Wirtz Beverage would like to remind you, Life Is Beautiful isn’t only about the food. With 57 specialty cocktails, 25 craft beers and 25 wine selections, there will be something for everyone.
The signature festival drink—the Life is Beautiful Dutch Mule—is a combination of Ketel One Citroen vodka with Barritts Bermuda Stone ginger beer, while the Southside Cucumber is a refreshing mixture of Hendrick’s Gin, mint, cucumber and soda. And look for canned Funaguchi Kikusui sake—aka the Gooch—which will pair particularly well with that obscenely large turkey leg of yours.
