If you follow The Killers on social media, you’ve noticed they’ve been busy (and goofing off) in the studio lately. However, that studio isn’t their own Battle Born facility. It’s National Southwestern Recording at 11th Street Records. The Vegas alt-rock quartet—along with producer Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol)—recently concluded six weeks of recording at the Downtown recording studio/record shop. So, does this mean the band’s first studio album in five years is forthcoming? Killers reps aren’t saying, but with producer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips) revealing that he’s doing mixing work for the guys—and rumors abounding that the album is near completion—we might see new music sooner than later.
