Wander among ancient fossils, colorful mineral specimens, antique slot machines, 19th-century farming tools, and extravagant showgirl costumes – artifacts that illustrate Las Vegas’ rise into the metropolitan gem we know today. Founded in 1982 and located on the Springs Preserve campus, the mission of the Las Vegas State Museum is to educate a diverse public about the cultural and natural history of Nevada. The museum collects, preserves, exhibits, and disseminates material that contributes to an understanding and appreciation of the state.
