Dream Zone

I’ve had three dreams where I can’t get to my boyfriend. In my first dream, when he approached me to get a kiss, an elephant started to chase him, so I never got near him. In my second dream, we were on the run from the police and went separate directions, and every time we would call and meet up somewhere, the police would find us first. The third dream he left me for a girl I used to go to high school with.

Lauri:These recurring dreams suggest that there is some sort of barrier keeping you and your boyfriend from reaching a certain level of closeness. Elephants are known for their memory, which means you may be allowing the memories from a past relationship to get in the way of your current one. The police indicate that you may be “policing” or overscrutinizing your boyfriend or the relationship. The girl from high school is also important. What three words describe her? Are these qualities that you feel you can’t live up to or are they qualities you fear will be a problem? These dreams are good for you because they are showing you that once you are able to recognize the barrier and overcome it, your relationship will reach new and exciting levels!

Megan replies: WOW! I do compare my present boyfriend with things from my past relationship. I am getting better at this, though. The girl from high school wasn’t someone I looked up to. So maybe I’d describe her as unfaithful, pretty and conceited. Makes a lot of sense.
