A little birdie told us

Twitter-addicts of the world unite! The Las Vegas Twitter community will synchronize its efforts for one night as part of the Twestival, a global charity fundraiser connecting micro-bloggers in 160 cities. On Thursday, February 12 from 7-10 p.m., the Beatles Revolution Lounge will play host to gobs of Twitter fans as they raise money and awareness for Charity: Water (Charitywater), a nonprofit organization that provides safe, clean drinking water to developing nations.

The Twestival—“Tweet. Meet. Give.”—will raise money through donations, raffles and proceeds; tickets start at just $20. Meanwhile, you Tweeps (Twitter users, we’re told) will enjoy complimentary Tweetinis while you update your Twitter status to the sounds of live DJs.

“I’m blown away by the local and global reception and how keen people are to invest their time and energy to Twestival,” says event organizer William Crozer, owner of Modern LV. Vegas’ own recently formed Beer & Bloggers club has unanimously decided to next assemble at the Twestival in support. Get in on the tweet-up yourself by following @LVTwestival.

Going solo

Bye-bye, Hart. Hello, Huntington. With Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company moving from its current location inside the Palms to the Hard Rock Hotel this year, John Huntington is embarking on his own endeavor. “George Maloof asked me to come back to the shop and change it into Huntington Ink and do something a little bit more high-end, more high-class style of a studio/lounge,” says Huntington. “Everything about the shop is going to be changed,” he says, revealing that the complete remodel will include water features, elevations and interactive touch-screens. “It’s really going to be a very cool lounge-y art-style tattoo area.” Huntington confirms award-winning Southern California black-and-gray portrait aficionado Steve Soto will join the team, in addition to touring guest artists. And for the ultimate Vegas studio, Huntington Ink will add a tattoo stage and a banging sound system for guest DJs and parties. Keep an eye out, and get your un-tattooed flesh ready for the shop’s opening in April.
