Battle of the Bands will return to the Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails at the Cosmopolitan starting on May 12. The four-week, bracket-style competition will see bands compete for the chance to play the venue’s hidden speakeasy stage on a regular basis, with the competition finale set for June 9. For registration details, visit thebarbershoplv.com/bob/.

The Plaza has announced that the second location of the Sand Dollar Lounge will open at the Downtown casino in early May. Free nightly entertainment from local bands and national headliners accompanied by hand-crafted cocktails, pizza and pool will be among the offerings. Grand-opening celebrations are slated to begin on May 26 continuing through Memorial Day weekend. The 4,000-square-foot space will hold approximately 300 guests.

Chance the Rapper will take the stage at Élia Beach Club at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas for a Memorial Day Weekend performance on May 28. Earlier this year the Grammy-winning rapper collaborated with singer-songwriter Moses Sumney and painter Naïla Opiangah on the release of art and music project “Child of God,” featured at Expo Chicago and displayed at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Also booked for the holiday weekend at Élia are DJ Eric DLux, electronic producer and DJ Lane 8 and U.K. musician Elderbrook.

Resorts World will become Maluma Land June 23-25, a weekend of Latin music performances from the Colombian superstar as well as Becky G, DJ Snake, Blessd, Zion & Lennox and more. Concerts and events are planned at Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub, along with a Mariachi brunch at Fuhu hosted by Maluma. For tickets and information, visit malumaland.com.

It won’t be happening at a nightclub but it’ll definitely be one of the biggest dance music events of this or any other year: Swedish House Mafia’s Paradise Again Tour lands at T-Mobile Arena on September 2, and some monster support acts were just announced. Grimes, ZHU and Alesso will perform at various stages of the tour; the Vegas show gets a set from Kaytranada.

Tao Group Hospitality has extended its Las Vegas Party Pass program, the city’s only official all-access club wristband, to include Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub and the newly opened Tao Beach Dayclub. The multi-venue, multi-day party pass now offers access to eight clubs on the Strip every week with more than 23 parties and events, all at prices starting at $99 and available to purchase online at taogroup.com/las-vegas-party-pass/.
