One of the most anticipated Downtown restaurants in years launched last week. Main St. Provisions at Colorado and California is open for dinner Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. featuring the comfort cuisine of Justin Kingsley Hall, former chef at Sparrow + Wolf, the Kitchen at Atomic and others and the creator of pop-up concept SLO-Boy.

Over on Fremont East, the Vegas Test Kitchen also made its debut last week in the former Chow restaurant space adjacent to Fergusons Downtown. Launched by SecretBurger founder Jolene Mannina, VTS is an incubator for various local dining concepts and currently hosts startup food businesses Slurp Society, PopNPies and Yukon Pizza, along with retail offerings from other local vendors. The kitchen is open Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lotus of Siam has reopened its second location on East Flamingo Road, marking the first time both local restaurants have been open concurrently. The Flamingo store was closed earlier this year due to rain damage and roof issues. To mark the occasion, Lotus is presenting three new prix fixe menus available at both locations for dine-in and takeout.

El Dorado Cantina is celebrating Las Posadas with a special menu of dishes and drinks available at both restaurant locations December 16-24. Offerings include pozole, blue corn huarache, churros, fruit-infused tequilas and more.

8 East at Circa has launched a new happy hour menu featuring $8 shareable plates like ginger chicken dumplings, pork belly bao, beef carpaccio and salt and Szechuan pepper chicken wings, available daily from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Drink specials include $5 wells, $6 sake bombs and $6 Sapporo and Big Dog’s drafts.

Blume Kitchen & Cocktails and the Stove are partnering to host holiday drive-through experiences for those in need. The restaurants have committed to contributing a minimum of 300 meals to be distributed to those most affected by the shutdown, and are calling on local businesses to contribute to their efforts to meet their goal of 1,000 meals. Contactless distribution will be available on December 24 from noon until 5 p.m., while donations last, at Blume at 3145 St. Rose Parkway #120. Those interested in donating should email [email protected] for more information.
