Más Por Favor Taqueria y Tequila debuted in early 2020 as a lauded addition to Chinatown’s diverse dining scene. Now, nightlife veteran Ryan Labbe and his team have struck again, with the new La Neta Cocina y Lounge, a modern take on traditional Mexican at Downtown Summerlin.

La Neta loosely translates to “the Truth” in Spanish street slang. That’s fitting, because everything about this menu speaks to an authentic approach, with a few twists.

Chef Israel Castro leads the kitchen like a mad scientist, concocting delicious and monstrous dishes that are a feast for the eyes—and your Instagram followers. His inventive BFTs (Big F’n Tacos) will wow, specifically the “lobsta” taco, a ridiculously large, butter poached lobster with a cheese-stuffed tortilla wedged in between. Yeah, they went there.

You could consider the WTF ($175) for the table—four pounds of chili-braised short rib topped with manchego polenta and green onions.

Mojo shrimp ($32) is a line of garlic shrimp over a bed of creamy jalapeño polenta topped with chorizo, or opt for traditional enchiladas ($26) with spicy rojo sauce or lobster enchiladas with chipotle cream. Cocktails are just as saucy. The tequila-forward Whata Prickly ($15) freshens up the palate with ginger beer, prickly pear and gold flakes, while the Pom Azul ($17) teeters between sweet and tart thanks to pomegranate.

La Neta takes presentation seriously, from beautifully stacked flautas ($15) to the mounds of rock salt caked under the Baja-style oysters ($24). The entire aesthetic begs to be photographed, including the lush, plants adorning the ceilings and a mosaic stained glass mural lighting up behind the bar. It’s sexy, romantic and primed for a night out. That’s the Truth.

LA NETA COCINA Y LOUNGE Downtown Summerlin, 702-476-5484. Sunday-Thursday, 5-10 p.m.; Friday & Saturday, 5-11 p.m.
