Curry Pizza House brings a new way to enjoy Northern Indian flavors

Owner Aman Kahlon is merging nostalgic flavors with present trends at Curry Pizza House. The fast-casual franchise out of California moved in right across the street from UNLV in November, serving Northern Indian recipes atop a pizza crust reminiscent of naan.

“I grew up eating Indian food, and I knew the flavor profiles,” Kahlon says. “That was a great way of taking this next generation, the Gen Z and the millennials and introducing them to these Indian flavor profiles that we are kind of lacking out here.”

Those flavors leave an impression. Tandoori chicken pizza comes with white garlic sauce, cheese, bell pepper, red onion, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and juicy, perfectly spiced chicken. There’s also a masala chicken version topped with curry sauce.

“We’re highly detail-oriented when it comes down to the recipes and making sure that the product is fresh every single day,” Kahlon says.

For vegetarians, must-try items include aloo gobhi pizza with curry sauce, marinated potatoes, cheese and fresh cilantro. Oven-charred marinated cauliflower and red onions tip the deliciousness scale on this one. There’s also the chili paneer pizza with curry sauce, bell pepper, diced tomatoes, green onion and fresh coriander, with the star being the masala paneer cheese that is marinated for at least 24 hours.

Pizza prices range from $18 for a 10-inch pie to $40 for an extra-large 18-inch. Wings and an assortment of satisfying grub from creative garlic sticks to baked masala chips and samosas round out the menu. A refreshing mango lassi is the cherry on top.

Curry Pizza House is also getting licensed to serve beer, wine and margaritas. “It’s supposed to be where you can watch the game and enjoy a drink and some pizza,” Kahlon says.

Sounds like another winning combination.
