Cocktail of the Week

Lost Creek Crush

Downtown Cocktail Room, $9

Image

It’s 107 degrees out, my eyes are sweating, and the very thought of clothing makes me want to cry. Time for a trip down to DCR for George Austin Sproule’s summer crowd-pleaser, the Lost Creek Crush, which I’ve seen him set down at least twice in front of people who said they “hate the taste of alcohol.” Consider them converted. See it this week on 702.tv!

Ingredients:

Mixology: Lost Creek Crush

Two large strawberries, halved

Eight mint leaves

0.75 oz. vanilla simple syrup

0.5 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 oz. New Amsterdam Gin

Splash of soda

Mint sprig

Method:

In a large pint glass, combine strawberries, mint, syrup and lemon. Muddle very gently. Add gin, cover and gently roll (a sloooow shake). Pour into an Old Fashioned glass, top with soda and garnish with a mint sprig.
