Speak the truth: Gala dinner for the Human Rights Campaign

The country’s largest organization for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) civil rights is having a gala dinner in Las Vegas tomorrow evening.

The event’s theme is “Speak the Truth” and will focus on members of the community in Nevada fighting for equality across the nation. Senator Harry Reid will be the keynote speaker for the fourth annual dinner. Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese will also attend the event.

Held at the Paris Las Vegas’ Versailles Ballroom, the gay-friendly property will welcome an anticipated 500 plus attendees. According to the HRC, the event will raise “funds to fight for fair minded elected officials and laws which protect the community against hate crimes and discriminatory practices.”

The gala will have a celebrity-filled cocktail reception and dinner, plus a silent auction and performances. Scheduled attendees include “America’s Gaysian Sweetheart” actor/comedian Alec Mapa from Ugly Betty, Penn & Teller, Anthony Cools, George Wallace, and cast members from Le Rêve and Jubilee!.
