Ice Rink | Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas | November 13 & 21
Growing up in the desert, I romanticized movies set in New York City as the holiday season approached. Overlooking the crazy snowstorms and cough-inducing cold, I’d gaze upon couples frolicking and sipping warm cocoa. Boys met girls and fell madly in love, skating across the rink at Central Park. And then, I’d finish the film and embrace my own seasonal options, going to see lighted cacti or make sand angels.
My winter choices have expanded since the Cosmopolitan created its own ice rink and generated its own “snow”(!). Now I can gaze into the night sky and watch flurries above the Strip, like I’m in one of those New York movies. Except that instead of gazing into the eyes of a boy, I had two cameras strapped to my chest.
