Las Vegas Weekly’s website wins prestigious EPPY Award

Las Vegas Weekly’s website has scored the top honor in its class in Editor & Publisher’s prestigious EPPY Awards.

Lasvegasweekly.com was named Best Weekly or Non-Daily Newspaper Website with less than 1 million unique monthly visitors. The online publication is produced by Greenspun Media Group, whose titles also include the Las Vegas Sun, The Sunday and VEGAS INC.

Winners in other categories included The Boston Globe, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN and CBS News.

"It's always a thrill to be recognized as one of the top organizations in our business," said Ric Anderson, managing editor of the Greenspun Media Group newsroom. "This award is a testament to the talent of our staff, and to their commitment to provide our readers with the best products in the market."

The Weekly’s website won an EPPY for the sixth time in the past seven years, having been previously awarded for Best Entertainment Website (2009, 2011, 2014), Best Redesign/Relaunch (2013) and Best Regional-Affiliated Website (2010).

This time, lasvegasweekly.com competed with finalists from Santa Barbara, Calif.; Greenville, Ohio; Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; and Waukesha, Wis.

In their 20th year, the EPPY Awards are an international contest honoring the best media-affiliated websites across 30 categories. GMG was the only Nevada company to win in this year's contest, which drew more than 400 entries competing in 31 categories.
