Quick Bites: Stanton Social Prime, Valley Cheese & Wine, Peyote and more Vegas food news

Caesars Entertainment and Tao Group Hospitality have announced they will open Stanton Social Prime from chef Chris Santos at Caesars Palace this winter adjacent to Omnia Nightclub. The new concept will feature iconic menu items from the original Stanton Social in New York’s Lower East Side, Santos’ first restaurant. He previously brought Beauty & Essex to Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan.

China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan launches its Bao & Mezcal event this week, pairing siu mai, steamed buns, dumplings and other Chinese favorites with Mexican spirits and cocktails. Featured pairings like barbecue pork steamed buns with Rancho Tepua Bacanora and Yu Xiang eggplant with Bozal Calabaza are available July 19-31 with agave flights also available.

Chef Bruce Kalman of Soulbelly BBQ will team with Chris Sexton of Hoodoo Brown in Connecticut and Keris Kuwana of local favorite Keris Sweets for an Italian Sunday Supper event on July 24 at 2 p.m. at Soulbelly on Main Street. Collaborative dishes will include smoked pork belly porchetta, semolina baked pasta with Sunday gravy and tiramisu cheesecake. For more information, visit soulbellybbq.com.

Valley Cheese & Wine will celebrate its second anniversary under new ownership with an event on July 27 at 4 p.m. featuring bottomless bubbles and cheese tastings, karaoke, raffle prizes and more, as well as 10% off all bottles of wine. Tickets are $30 and available at valleycheeseandwine.com.

Café Lola has opened its fourth location in the Valley at 7379 S. Rainbow Boulevard at Warm Springs Road. The new store includes a portrait of owners Lin Jerome and Alexandra Lourdes created by Lola Sanchez of the Oliver Gal Artist Co. The café is open daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Peyote at Fergusons Downtown is partnering with Cheapshot on Fremont East to create a new dinner and show experience every Thursday through Saturday. It starts with a three-course prix fixe menu on the Peyote patio garden with dish options including branzino tiradito, heirloom tomato salad, pollo asada and flat iron steak with roasted Anaheim chile stuffed with cheese. The evening continues with cocktails and a performance of Miss Behave’s Mavericks at Cheapshot, and the price is $99 per person. Reservations are available online here.

Star Cocktail Lounge has partnered with chef Antonio Nunez as operating partner to develop new food and cocktail menu items such as duck confit grilled cheese, smoked brisket empanadas, jackfruit tacos, the chocolate blueberry milk stout cocktail and more. Coming soon is a cabaret brunch with more new dishes and live DJs.

Newly reopened Tacos & Tequila at Palace Station has launched Sunday brunch with a live mariachi band and house margarita and sangria pitcher specials ($29) available from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Brunch dishes include chilaquiles, tacos con tocino with scrambled eggs and smoked bacon, huevos rancheros and French toast topped with sliced bananas, crispy bacon and Mexican caramel sauce.

RPM Italian at the Forum Shops at Caesars is now open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 11 a.m. The same all-day menu is available.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib has returned its happy hour programming after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. Favorite bar bites such as fried calamari, cheesy onion fondue, prime rib tacos and shrimp fritters are once again available, along with $5 bottled beers and $10 glasses of wine, Monday through Friday from 4:30 until 6 p.m.

Bonefish Grill has launched a new three-course dinner for two for $45 with dish options including a bone-in pork chop, center-cut sirloin steak, pineapple glazed shrimp and Key Lime cake.
