Quick Bites: Las Vegas restaurants making news this week

The Wish You Were Here Group is set to open new concept Leoncito, a modern Mexican restaurant, at the Red Rock Resort in Summerlin this fall. The company already operates the Rouge Room at the resort, as well as Kassi Beach House at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It will take over the former Hearthstone space and is slated to open in October.

Brooklyn-style restaurant Stallone’s Italian Eatery will open a second location at Santa Fe Station this fall near the sportsbook. Menu items will include pizza, meatballs, garlic knots and hero sandwiches, and owner Brett Raymer, former ESPN radio host and star of “Tanked,” will curate a collection of sports items and memorabilia for the restaurant décor. Makers & Finders is set to open its third location in Henderson at 75 S. Valle Verde Drive on September 1. The new store will offer a full breakfast and lunch menu and a coffee lounge with quick takeout ordering, as well as an expanded draft beer selection and new cocktails. At more than 3,000 square feet, the largest location to date a will offer a 14-seat bar and an outdoor terrace, and will operate Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Legacy Club at Circa Resort will debut Bourbon & Blues on September 9 at 4 p.m., a tasting event featuring a selection of bourbons paired with small bites with a live blues band and more. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased here.

Basilico in southwest Las Vegas will host its first Tour of Italy wine dinner on August 23 at 7 p.m. The experience includes seven new dishes from chef Francesco di Caudo paired with wines from Trinchero Family Estates. Tickets are $125 per person and reservations can be made by calling 702-534-7716.

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches at the Fashion Show has unveiled two new sandwich specials inspired by two of the sexiest shows on the Strip. The Thunder From Down Underwich (sure to be a favorite of the guys in “Thunder From Down Under” at Excalibur) has halal chicken, red pesto, mushroom, avocado, sriracha and more on Dutch crunch bread with Ike’s Dirty Sauce baked into it. And the Cheesy Fan-Tease-y, inspired by “Fantasy” at Luxor, offers turkey, mozzarella sticks, red and green pesto, honey mustard, provolone and pepper jack.

The X Pot at Palazzo is offering a new weekday lunch special available at the lounge and bar from noon until 4 p.m. where guests can enjoy 50% off all cocktails and beer and 30% off all food. In addition, a new happy hour offers 50% off all cocktails and beer and 20% off all food every day in the lounge and bar from 5 until 7 p.m.

Fuhu at Resorts World has a new Saturday brunch menu offered from noon until 3 p.m. Dishes include bluefin tekka maki and Hokkaido scallop rolls, ube pancakes, chicken chilaquiles, tamarind chile octopus, Hainanese chicken rice and prime shortrib Benedict.
