Quick Bites: Las Vegas restaurants making news this week

Get ready for more Wahlburgers on the Strip.

Chingon Hospitality Group and chef Noé Alcalá are bringing Zai to Downtown Las Vegas. The restaurant/nightclub will be located at 700 Fremont St. and is set for a grand opening on March 31. The menu will feature cuisine “from multiple gastronomies with a modern twist,” according to a statement, with Latin dishes inspired by the chef’s hometown of Tepatitlán among them. Wahlburgers, the burger joint from famous brothers Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg, is set to open its second location on the Las Vegas Strip in late March. The new eatery will be located at the the Shoppes at Mandalay Place, serving the same menu of signature burgers, salads, crispy fish and chicken sandwiches and more. Su Casa Sushi Bar at the Silverton has unveiled a new menu including signature dishes and an omakase dining experience. Executive room chef Shayne Galan and his team serve a series of dishes showcasing seasonal ingredients for the $80 omakase offering and new menu items available on the regular menu, include the ahi katsu “starter” of deep-fried, nori-wrapped tuna served with mixed greens and ginger dressing; crispy tuna rice with garlic chips and sweet soy glaze; Pork Belly Sizzle with sweet chili and snow peas served on a sizzling ishiyaki stone; and the prime New York steak katsu sando, served with furikake French fries.
