Quick Bites: Las Vegas restaurants making news this week

LPM Restaurant & Bar will open its ninth location worldwide and second in the United States at the Cosmopolitan this fall. Known for its Riviera-inspired cuisine, cocktails and design, LPM will create its largest restaurant yet on the Strip, featuring an indoor-outdoor atmosphere and “memorable flavors guests cannot find elsewhere,” CEO Nicolas Budzynski said in a statement. “The Cosmopolitan’s whimsical personality sets just the right tone for the LPM experience and for our guests from around the world.”

Kaia Handroll is set to open in late spring at Area15. Chris Garcia will be executive chef at the new eatery promising a modern take on sushi handrolls and traditional Japanese flavors, which will feature countertop bar seating and to-go dining.

Crumbz Bakery and Coffeehouse has opened at 8390 W. Sahara Avenue near the Lakes. The new spot features high-end coffees and espressos, signature lattes, pastries, sourdough breads, breakfast sandwiches and more and is open daily from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Soulbelly BBQ will celebrate two years of tasty Downtown goodness on May 20 at 6 p.m. with a pig roast and special guest chefs including Josh Smith, Van Nguyen, Keris Kuwana, Roy Ellamar and Colin Fukunaga. Live music from When We Were Dumb, Prawn Queen and Pure Joy, local visual artists, Shiner Beer tastings and other activities will be part of the fun, too. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

The Legacy Club at Circa will debut its new Skyline Sips wine tasting event on May 20 from 2 until 5 p.m. Guests will be able to sample more than 25 different wines and Champagnes at the 60th-floor indoor-outdoor lounge, with tickets set at $125. The Legacy Club’s next special bash will be Legacy en Blanc: A White-Hot Summer Night, set for June 23 at 7 p.m., encouraging all-white attire and featuring live music, canapés and an open bar.

Tailgate Social at Palace Station will launch its new Oyster Tuesdays program on May 23. From 4 until 9 p.m. every Tuesday, a selection of premium oysters will be freshly shucked and served on ice with a lemon and Tabasco sauce for $1.25 each, and guests can pair oysters with a craft cocktail (all $15).

138° in Henderson will host a special seven-course prix-fixe dinner featuring Yellowstone F1 Wagyu beef on May 25 at 6 p.m. Chef Matt Meyer and his team will be demonstrating traditional butchery and using the whole animal to feature different dishes such as oxtail terrine, beef consommé with ribeye and corn dumplings, and a 45-day dry-aged New York strip with loaded mini potato. Tickets cost $199 and reservations can be made through Eventbrite.

Wynn Las Vegas will introduce Min’s Test Kitchen, a pop-up concept from chef Min Kim at Jardin, on May 26. Open through late September, Min’s Test Kitchen will operate while Mizumi is closed for renovations, and it will feature progressive Asian cuisine from various countries, drawing on Kim’s Korean heritage and experiences in Australia and Tokyo. Menu highlights will include cod karaage with silken tofu, Japanese purebred olive Wagyu, and steamed pork belly bossam. There will also be an omakase menu option. Min’s Test Kitchen at Jardin will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 until 10 p.m.

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés has announced new additions to its main menu as well as new dishes featured on its special José’s Way and Ultimate Tasting menus. New standouts on the main menu include spicy bluefin tuna, Josper-roasted Thai lobster with peanuts and tobiko, an A5 Wagyu beef tasting, and new caviar service options.

Sol Mexican Cocina at the Forum Shops at Caesars has launched Taco Tuesday, beginning at 3 p.m. every Tuesday and running until the restaurant closes in the bar area only. Favorites like the Firecracker Quesadilla ($11) and street tacos ($13) of chicken, carnitas and beer-battered fish are among the specials, also including house margaritas $11) and watermelon margaritas ($13).

Anthony’s at the M Resort has launched a new Sunday brunch buffet, available every week from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The selection includes smoked Scottish salmon, a sushi bar, caprese and pasta salads, snow crab legs, an egg station, applewood smoked bacon, roasted fingerling potatoes, lobster bisque, Prime Rib, Beef Wellington and more. The cost is $99.
