Pok Pok Wing at the Cosmopolitan’s Block 16 Urban Food Hall has closed and will be replaced this spring with David Chang’s Báng Bar, a Momofuku spinoff concept focused on spit-roasted meats wrapped in freshly griddled bang bread. Báng Bar originally opened in New York in 2018 with a menu that includes spicy pork, chicken or eggplant wraps and rice bowls. “We are excited to open an additional Momofuku spot at the Cosmopolitan. Bāng Bar is one of the craziest concepts we’ve come up with and I’m excited to offer our Las Vegas guests an accessible, on-the-go option,” Chang said in last week’s announcement.

Chinglish Cantonese Wine Bar in Boca Park is replacing its planned grand opening event with a benefit for Three Square on December 10, donating all proceeds for the entire day to the local food bank. Every dollar donated to Three Square leads to six meals for Southern Nevadans in need. Chinglish is open that day for dine-in and takeout from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 to 10 p.m

Speaking of Three Square, its annual Holiday Match Challenge continues through the end of the year, when donations by individuals are matched dollar-for-dollar by local businesses and community leaders including Nevada Gold Mines operated by Barrick, Boyd Gaming Corporation, Intermountain Healthcare and Towbin Automotive. Since its inception, the Holiday Match Challenge has raised $3.6 million equating to more than 11 million meals provided by Three Square and its network of community partners. For more information or to donate, visit threesquare.org.

Golden Rainbow is partnering with Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at Sahara Las Vegas to host “Dining Out for Life” on December 13, when a generous percentage of sales that evening plus 100% of proceeds from a specialty cocktail will benefit the 33-year-old local nonprofit organization that provides housing and financial assistance to people living with HIV and AIDS in Southern Nevada. Reservations are required by emailing [email protected] and meals are also available for carryout that evening by placing an order online here and adding “Golden Rainbow Event” in the comment section. For more information, visit goldenrainbow.org/diningoutforlife.

Andrés’ other Las Vegas restaurants China Poblano and Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan continue their Sparkling Festivals this month. For guests dining in or taking out, both restaurants are offering curated sparkling wine flights, limited-time cocktails and/or special bottles of bubbly to go, with prices varying. Jaleo is currently closed and will reopen December 9, and the sparkling deals run through December 13.
