Score free ice cream with your Uber ride in honor of National Ice Cream Month

Mmm … ice cream.

With the sweltering summer heat upon us, we all need a little something to cool us down. How about a free, chocolate-covered ice cream?

On July 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Uber will celebrate National Ice Cream Month by offering complimentary Magnum chocolate-dipped ice cream pops. As you order your Uber ride during that four-hour window, you’ll have the option to order ice cream on-demand, too.

Donated by Unilever, the ice cream will also be delivered to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Zappos, and children in summer camp at the Mirabelli Community Center. The pops will stay frozen in dry ice in every Uber car.

Uber expects drivers across Southern Nevada to serve more than 2,000 of the delicious delights, but imagine how much ice cream will be donated globally in 400 participating cities in countries including Canada, Australia and Africa. The ice cream celebration has nearly doubled from last year, when about 230 cities participated, according to an Uber representative. This is the first year for Las Vegas.
