Housed in the U.S. Branch Mint at Carson City, Nevada’s storied past emerges across a diverse panorama of engaging subjects spanning eons-old geology, our prehistoric animalian neighbors, American Indian culture, the glory days of silver mining and beyond. Featuring 17 galleries and unique displays, guests can walk through a reconstructed ghost town and a reconstructed underground mine, see the world’s largest exhibited Columbian Mammoth, and the silver set from the USS Nevada.

Founded in 1939, the Nevada State Museum preserves the state’s history through unique and authentic educational experiences via their collections, exhibits, events, and outreach activities. The knowledge of the staff’s archivists, scientists, and historians provides leadership in heritage education which adheres to the highest standards of public-trust stewardship.

Pro tip: The original Coin Press No. 1 is still working, with demos weekly pressing commemorative coins.
