DIGITAL TONY: Calling Mr. Bill

Sunday was all about women and ex-presidents

Bill Clinton was in town over the weekend for a Democratic fund-raiser and to plug his new book, My Life. Chalk it up to irony, but Sunday afternoon saw a trio of gigs right up his alley. First was the Palms Beach Sunday and Search for the First Palms Girl modeling contest. The event showcased the lovelies vying for the juicy $100,000 modeling contract and a chance to be the Palms' first official spokesmodel. It also featured the live and fine malt-lyrics of Everlast. Even the clouds and sprinkles couldn't keep the crowd from the Skin pool lounge.

This was the first time I'd been by the pool in the day, and I was surprised how much smaller it looked. Still, the contest was fun, though I preferred Bump 'n' Grind III a couple of weeks back. How could I not? Strippers playing volleyball!

The parties and contest continues July 25 and August 22. Head over to www.palmsgirl.com for more info and to vote for your favorite girl.

Over at the Hard Rock's Rehab, the Clinton-friendly theme continued with Stripper Dodgeball! It's the first movie-themed event I've seen lately that actually brings in some of the picture's stars to host the event: Joel Moore and Chris Williams from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

Whiskey Beach at the Green Valley Ranch, had the Bacardi Bikini Invitational. I hear Clinton, a guest at the hotel, managed a few peeks from his balcony. The event, with Mad TV's Brian McFadden hosting and Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil as one of the celebrity judges, certainly would've been a better way for Bubba to raise money for the Democrats than some stuffy $1,000-a-plate dinner.

Bill, if you're reading this, next time you do Vegas, be sure to hit me up. Leave the missus at home 'cause we're going to the Rhino! And don't worry about cigars, they have a fine selection.

THIS WEEKEND

The highly anticipated debut of Tangerine at T.I. is here, promising the best Strip view in town, and I'm not talking about half of the club being outside. Tangerine boasts a burlesque edge not yet seen in the Vegas club scene, akin to Moulin Rouge. If you've seen Carmen Electra and her Pussycat Dolls, you'll know what I mean. Come by July 2 for a live performance from Mrs. Navarro and return Saturday for DJ Skribble.

The whole burlesque angle gives the scene a much-needed artiness and their Moonshine will bring a much-needed locals' party to Wednesdays. Here's hoping they can pull it off.

THE SETTING SUN

Straight from the That Sucks Department, the superb Rise and Shine after-hours at the Rio's Voodoo Lounge is dead. This news comes to you thanks to the Rio's high-rollers, their suites directly below the club, who bitched and moaned about the excessive noise. I've also heard they weren't too pleased with the wild after-hours crowd. Apparently, they forgot they were in Las Vegas, party capital of the world. Didn't the Rio expect an after-hours to be noisy?
