Few bands deserve the title legendary more than Motorhead. Live as always, and fronted by Lemmy Kilminster, the metal masters can pound out classics from decades ago as if those songs were still brand spanking new.

The Joint, $15. 693-5066

September 19

Hometown heroes The Killers make a triumphant return to Vegas to remind us what all the hot fuss is all about, reviving the unlikely sound of INXS and Duran Duran into their own irresistible pop rock.

House of Blues, $15. 632-7600

September 24

Sting and Annie Lennox are a natural together: they both have blond, spiky hair; were in bands that had hits in the '80s; and became solo stars in the '90s. This is the ultimate concert for people who passionately feel that a wild alternative lifestyle comes from trading the BMW in for a Volvo.

MGM Grand Garden Arena, $52-$15. 891-7777

September 24-25

There is no amount of respect that Aretha Franklin does not deserve. Last year's So Damn Happy was the diva's first studio release of the new century, and it is a perfect excuse for her to be back on the road.

House of Blues, $75-$150. 632-7600

October 1

This is the second visit for Van Halen on this tour, but as long as the shows keep selling out, who's complaining? In fact, Van Hagar are getting better reviews now than the band ever did back in the day.

Orleans Arena, $75-$175. 284-7777

October 16 and 23

The recent release of License to Chill surprised many Jimmy Buffett fans by going straight to the top of the country charts. But that isn't much of a shock when you consider that everyone from Toby Keith to Clint Black makes a guest appearance.

MGM Grand Garden Arena, $65-$200. 891-7777

October 28

For more than a quarter century, the Cramps have made campy rockabilly garage music celebrating excess like life depends on it. Still, led by singer Lux Interior and guitarist Poison Ivy, the Cramps' simple music over the years has been the firm base for what can be a very wild concert experience—watch out for flying microphone stands!

House of Blues, $18-$20. 632-7600
