DIGITAL TONY: Who Needs Football?

It’s not the only game this weekend

Antonio Llapur

Somebody told me there's some kind of big sporting event this weekend. OK, I'm just goofing—I can't wait for the bloody game. We've got the beer, hot wings, pizza and VCR all set in case Paul McCartney has a halftime wardrobe malfunction. But with all of the club excitement this weekend, you might forget about Super Bowl XXXIX.

First up is the grand opening of the much-hyped and highly anticipated permanent Club Rubber at Seven. For the past few years, Club Rubber has been the biggest, baddest event/mega-party in the country, but now you can get all the Rubber action you want whenever you want.

Club Rubber impresarios John Huntington and Damien Sanders have the lovely, talented DJ Miss Lisa commandeering the decks Friday. Saturday, it's the DJ name of names ... Paul Oakenfold. And how about a birthday bash Sunday for Vince Neil?

But don't be foolish and miss the opening celebration Friday for Vivid, the club, at the Venetian. It's a cozy venue, with special effect- like holograms, and let's face it, one hell of a brand name attached. The party promises to have some dynamite effects of its own, too. Expect to see Vivid Girls Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Mercedez, Savanna Samson, Tawny Roberts, Lexi Marie and Monique Alexander.

Just as exciting as Vivid is the debut of the high-end strip club Sin this weekend, just behind the Mandalay Bay. Sin's resident DJ Charley4Play (formerly at Spearmint Rhino) promises it will be the hottest and swankiest strip club you've ever seen. A bold statement, but since Charley is the best strip-club DJ I've ever heard, I'll take his word.

At Ice, there is some seriously beautiful fun this weekend. Friday, it's Thank Glaude It's DJ Rap! Say what? Well, the legendary Donald Glaude won't be playing this week. Instead, it'll be the UK's drum 'n' bass, gorgeous diva, Rap. Mainstream folks will recognize her from a Twix ad campaign a few years back. That's not all. On Saturday, it's the Porn Star Ball, starring everybody's favorite adult movie queen and native daughter, Jenna Jameson, along with Krystal Steal.

Finally, Gino LoPinto and Tony Verdugo's AM after-hours at OPM has found a new home at the 375 Supper Club Lounge inside the Alexis Resort & Villas, across from the Hard Rock. The party gets going every Saturday at 3:30 a.m.
