Advice to half—the stronger half—of a potential business duo

THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I had a pimple right on the tip of my nose. But when I popped it, it spewed a gallon of puss! I rarely get pimples. Please tell me what in the world this dream means!

Jennifer, 32

Lauri: No need to stockpile Oxyclean! This isn't about your complexion, but a "blemish" in your life. What festering issue has "erupted"? The pimple was on the most noticeable part of your face. Did you recently "face" a bothersome issue? Your dream says that, like a freshly popped zit, all the nasty gunk has been released and the issue will soon fade away.

Jennifer replies: This is so exact! My mother and I have long had a blemished relationship. She's very bitter and negative about everything I do and say, especially with any man in my life. I think she gets jealous when I have a man I'm really excited about. My dad left us when I was 16 and she's never dated or moved on. I recently confronted her. There was a huge emotional explosion, but I think it was needed. We got a lot of negativity out in the open and I feel things are going to get better now.

Recently a friend I've known for many years approached me with a business proposal to start up an apparel design house—possibly accessories but with a concentration on prêt-a-porter (ready-to-wear). Is this a feasible venture? I'm willing to invest the time to take fashion merchandising or business classes to understand the workings of the industry. Are these courses necessary? We both have moderate exposure in the industry and have run small businesses in management positions.

Do you foresee success? I realize this will require a serious investment of energy. My only hesitation is that the partnership may not have enough experience to survive. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Fashionable Future

Dear FF,

You're the stronger person in this potential business partnership. You can clearly see the success and are willing to do whatever you must to get there. However, your potential partner is such a quick thinker that he loops his mind into all aspects of the endeavor. I say "loop" because he can just as easily talk himself out of something as into something.

While your partner has the potential to be quite talented, his constant worry and battles within will be problematic to the partnership. He'll frequently rely on you to coax success and focus out of him and that aspect of your relationship is already present. I hope you recognize that while I think your friend has the mind of a creative genius, he will depend on you to handle most of the grueling/tedious/boring parts of the business. Remember, he thinks you think he's brilliant—and with that attitude, he's more into the identity of having the business than doing the business' hard work.

Why do you need him to start your own business in the first place? You're a born saleswoman, quite intuitive, and people like you before they even meet you. If there's even a hint of "I'm doing this for him because he's had such a rough road," please don't partner with him because you'll regret it. It sounds like he needs you more than you need him.

What a fun, easy and insightful way to receive, interpret and benefit from the wisdom of our very souls! [Mona's book] Chancing Life will undoubtedly bring to the table, so to speak, many readers who wouldn't have attempted to connect to a higher level of consciousness through more traditional methods such as tarot cards and runes.

You make the age-old practice of connecting to one's higher self to receive guidance and counsel as easy as a roll of the dice! With clear, concise explanations for each combination of numbers, anyone can quickly and easily connect with the divine energy that guides us all through our life journeys for advice and direction.

This book will make a great gift for anyone interested in receiving guidance, but have shied away from other methodologies due to how complex and time-consuming they can be! I want to thank you for your contribution to the process of connecting to the Divine Source!
