THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

This recurring dream varies sometimes but basically I'm always trying to pull something out of my mouth. No matter how much I try, I never get it out! Sometimes it's gum or something like it. A couple times it's been hair and I pull and pull but it seems to never end. I try so hard because I feel I'm in some sort of danger if I don't get it out. It's difficult to breath.

Anastasia, 33

Lauri: This dream is all about communication—or lack thereof. Are you the type, like me, who holds your tongue, afraid to say something for fear of hurting someone else's feelings, or of confrontation? These dreams come when you need to "spit it out" already. You feel in danger if you don't get it out because your inner mind knows it's unhealthy to hold back, causing unnecessary stress. These dreams are no fun, but they're good for you. Next time you get one, you know what you gotta do: Speak up, sister!

Anastasia replies: You're so right about holding my tongue. I'm always afraid to say something for fear of hurting someone else's feelings and definitely afraid of confrontations. You nailed it!

ARIES (March 21-April 20)

I pulled the Knight of Wands from my tarot card deck for you this week. He's a fire sign warrior in a suit of armor and a cape of red flames, holding a torch and rearing upward on his shiny black stallion. It's a description of how you'll feel today (Thursday, November 3) through Saturday, as Moon in Sagittarius trines Saturn on Friday afternoon and conjuncts Pluto and Venus. The message: There's no holding back now. The "Victory" card (the Six of Wands) says you can have it all, so carry a large satchel and fill 'er up! Love: think rainbows; Career: play fair; Health: bountiful.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)

Around midday Saturday, you may have an urge to whip out that multi-layered creative project you've been working on. As Moon enters Capricorn and conjuncts Venus and sextiles Jupiter, the stars promise easier solutions than you've found in the past. The Taurus card called "Worry" in my tarot deck says you only have to begin it to finesse it. Once you start, everything falls into place. You may even finish it by Sunday, when Moon trines Mars. It's about self-confidence, energy and opportunity offered to you this week. Love: you; Career: yours; Health: it's your call.

GEMINI (May 22-June 21)

You'll have sudden bursts of mental agility on Tuesday, when Moon in Aquarius sextiles Mercury, and a sense of omnipotence and endurance on Wednesday, when it sextiles Pluto, planet of power. The trump card called "The Moon" in my tarot deck says this week you could meet up with someone who disturbingly opposes your ideas, but the Six of Swords ("Science") says you neatly cut them down to size and magically create a win-win situation. Love: are they needy, or do they just need a hug? Career: surprising; Health: "The Star" card tells me you need to focus on it.

CANCER (June 22-July 22)

With Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, plenty of water's around this month to make you feel right at home, though this week there isn't a water sign Moon until Wednesday evening. By that time Moon sextiling Pluto will be waning, so you could feel a bit drained after a long, dry week of lunar fire and air. Still, there's lots of juice in the Lucky Break Department, and it's working for you. Expect a gusher at the end of the drought. Love: trying to get your attention; Career: a major breakthrough is on its way; Health: update your vitamins.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 23)

You've got till Saturday to play with Venus in Sagittarius, sparking with love interests far and wide. Then the love planet enters Capricorn and becomes infused with responsibility. Saturn being in Leo right now, you needed that loosey-goosey break, and here comes old Cap to rain on your parade. The upside is that now you have the opportunity to find "Ms./Mr. Right" until December 14, when Venus enters Aquarius. Don't look a gift-goat in the butt. I mean it. Love: gets a kick out of you; Career: with lots of other planets in fire, you're a sure success. Health: fab.

VIRGO (Aug. 24-Sept. 22)

The Three of Disks in my tarot deck is called "Works." It's a big silver pyramid sluicing through the water, and symbolizes upward mobility. That's what you'll feel like this weekend as Venus, planet of who and how you love, enters Capricorn. Venus also represents where you are loved, and since Capricorn is about career and public status, all earth signs should feel covered in those arenas in coming weeks. You'll look —and feel —like a million bucks. Love: you're a magnet; Career: it's a keeper; Health: it's not about age —you can make it better.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

From Monday afternoon to Wednesday morning you'll feel like you're breezing right along on the vibes of the Aquarian Moon. Monday, Moon squares Jupiter, a placement that makes for brilliant thinking. Tuesday, those thoughts can be put into action as Moon sextiles Mercury and squares Mars. Watch for impatience, and make the necessary corrections. You have an edge on the competition, so keep your head and your cool. On the other hand, be sure they know you want the job. Love: perks up; Career: tracking nicely; Health: the tarot card called "Peace" says it all.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 22)

There's not a water-sign Moon in sight this week, but Scorpio rules most of the month, so you're in your element as November begins. Scorpio is a sign of structure, so Capricorn in Venus over the weekend could help you put one and two together. The planet of love will work for you if you let go and have some fun, though the party might be dry. After all, Capricorn is about taking responsibility, which serious-minded Scorpios can appreciate. Love: the Princess of Cups in my tarot deck is offering it; Career: new opportunities abound; Health: enjoyment is key.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)

Venus, planet of love, leaves Sagittarius Saturday for Capricorn. You'll make up for it with Moon in your sign from today (Thursday, November 3) to Saturday. Also, Mercury's still in Sag, as is Pluto, planet of power, so you're "on" mentally these days, and it should be paying off in the form of job prospects/business profits and influential connections. In matters of love, however, you'll be called on to be straight up about romantic intentions you put off while Venus was in your own wayward, frisky sign. Love: my cards say you're wanted; Career: take it; Health: rest up.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20)

Venus enters your sign on Saturday, smoothing out the weekend and finally (after a long siege in Scorpio and Sagittarius) delivering the romantic goods to earth signs everywhere. It should be just as you like it, too, since Moon's in Capricorn through Monday morning and does cartwheels for you for three days, sextiling Jupiter, planet of luck and expansion, and trining Mars on Sunday for a delightfully high-energy moment. You'll feel like climbing every mountain. Have fun! Love: no need to chase after it now; Career: always O.K. for you; Health: shimmers.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 18)

Moon enters Aquarius Monday afternoon and stays there through Wednesday, giving you a lift. Tuesday's the best, with Venus sextiling Jupiter and Moon sextiling Mercury and conjuncting Neptune, a winning combination when you've got big dreams (about to come true). However, don't let a Moon-Saturn opposition cause you to doubt yourself. If naysayers hang back, just smile and go about your business—proving them wrong. Love: the Three of Swords ("Sorrow" in my tarot deck) says you need to let go of old baggage; Career: you're respected; Health: complete the program.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

You're prey to uncertainty this week as Uranus, planet of sudden change (in Pisces), has its ups and downs. Today (Thursday, November 3,) Moon squares that erratic planet, throwing you off-balance. Saturday night Mercury squares Uranus, so it's hard to tell if what is said is meant to help or hurt. On Sunday, Moon sextiles Uranus (a good aspect) clearing up hangovers (and misunderstandings) from the night before. (Turns out they did, in fact, mean to help.) Love: hopeful; Career unlimited; Health: "Adjustment" in my tarot deck says balance comes from inner strength.
