Beyond the Rope

Adam S. Gould

Hometown: Boston

Age: 29

Profession: Director of marketing, promotions and VIP services, Vegas Alliance

Profile: Not solely the ever-present friendly face welcoming one and all to Empire Ballroom and Late Night Empire, Gould also oversees the annual Uttopia party (soon to go on tour!), Vegas Music Conference and parties at Voodoo Lounge for Gino Lopinto’s Vegas Alliance. Why I Do What I Do: “I live for the thank you”—the cards, e-mails and calls thanking Gould for his recommendations, his professionalism. “That, for me, is huge.” He has lived in five cities and studied the night culture in West Palm Beach, Miami, New York and Boston before moving to Vegas three and a half years ago. “It means that I’m here to stay. I’m here for the evolutionary growth.”

Personal Tidbit: Two words: Toe fetish. Gould loves him some toes, in fives and in tens, and uses the excuse of checking IDs to check out the little piggies. Ladies, OPI’s polish color “I’m Not Really A Waitress” is the way to go, and please, no peep-toe pumps or Uggs.

Last CD Purchased: Abductions and Reconstructions, Thievery Corporation

Latest Accomplishment: Just purchased the house of his dreams in Southern Highlands. “It’s a turning point in my life.”

Quote: Having polled his co-workers, it would have to be a three-way tie between “Not for nothing”; “It is what it is”; and the eternal battle cry of the VIP host, “Call me for tables!”
